Womens and Girls

Illingworth has been one of the leaders in promotion of girls Rugby League in Halifax. There have been teams competing for over a decade and Illingworth Girls have had some real successes.

The 2018 season saw the Illingworth club field three girls teams at U12’s, U14’s and U16’s.

In March 2019, the club continued their drive to promote girls Rugby League and went out in force to the Shay for a promotion day at Halifax’s home game with Swinton. That year the club fielded girls teams at U12’s, U14’s and U16’s.

A successful 2022 season saw the Illingworth ladies reach the League 1 Championship Final only to lose out to a superior Sheffield Eagles team.

Illingworth Ladies has become a highly regarded team within Womens Rugby League.

Huddersfield Giants Ladies were the dual registration partner of Illingworth Ladies in 2024 and players such as ex-Elland junior Ruby Tyson turned out for Illingworth under this arrangement. The 2024 season highlighted the quality of the Womens team as they were able to travel to Leigh Miners and win by 50-12. Other opponent is included not only amateur club teams Thatto Heath, Fryston, Swinton and Leigh Miners but also womens teams from the professional clubs, Hull FC, Widnes and Wakefield.
