The Final Final Chapter
Following a reunion in 1993, it was decided that the residual monies in the Mixenden ARLFC account should be put to good use. Arnie Thorpe, former Mixenden player and treasurer, explained that rather than blowing the money on a night out,
“we thought what a better way to spend it than on a charity close to all our hearts at the club”
The final act of this once great Rugby League club was to donate money to Overgate Hospice in Elland. The funds were very welcome and the comments on Overgate’s Facebook page showed the appreciation
“ Lovely gesture from a great team”
“Can’t think of a better cause”
“Well done the old Mixy boys”
