As many of the open age players grew older and retired, it was decided by the club to look Masters Rugby League – a social, non-competitive, modified version of Rugby League for those 35 -and it was decided to form a team.

The Masters team played its first game back in 2013.

Boothtown Masters play regular fixtures and have played games across the country. They are regulars at the National Masters Festival each year.

During the period without an Open Age team, the Masters kept the club alive and allowed for the return of the Open Age team in 2024-25.
